Computer Training for Website Basics
Web Site Basics is designed to help small businesses create and maintain their own Internet presense to reach the broader base of cyber shoppers using location-based sevices on mobile devices. The class is taught in four 2-hour sessions taking you step-by-step through the web page design basics. Upon completion of the course, the small business owner will have the ability to maintain and update their own business web site. Learning the Tools: Microsoft FrontPage or Macromedia Dreamweaver Depending on what web design program you have on your computer, you will learn how to use MS FrontPage or Dreamweaver. You will learn the basics of HTML and JAVA and PHP to create web pages. How to build effective navigation, text and graphics, add hyperlinks and apply keywords, and develop page structure and Search Engine Optimization to make your web site pop! Note: Students are responsible for purchasing and installing web design software prior to class time. Learning the Tools: Adobe Photoshop or Macomedia Fireworks Depending on the graphics software you have on your computer, you will learn Learn how to create and format photos and image for the web, understand file formats, resolution, and color pallets, and create rollovers and banners. Note: Students are responsible for purchasing and installing graphics editing software prior to class time. Application: Build a Website Create a live web site with a registered domain and shared hosting.
